I wonder if the same contractor that welds the Russian tanks together also built the Russian Navy’s point defense system.

“...Russia’s President Vladimir Putin may resort to using a tactical or low-yield nuclear weapon...”

Would be schadenfreude if he dropped it on Biden’s head (or at least Philadelphia). Why waste a perfectly good nuke otherwise? So many choices. /s

Wasn’t there an article recently that said this ship was the aqua tsar of the Black Sea?

The explosion was likely some sort of ammo lit off by the fire.

The question is was the fire a missile strike or smoking rooskie sailors spilling high test wodka around?

Russians will never admit their flagship was sunk by Ukrainian missiles. They already look incompetent as an army. This would make that much worse.

Because Putin didn’t defeat Ukraine, he opened himself up to Western resupply of his opponent.

While one has to proceed carefully, this is a unique opportunity to destroy his forces by proxy.

That should be one of our objectives.
Interestingly, countries like Turkey figured that out early on.

Apparently this warship was sunk either by a shore to ship missile or a drone. When the cheering stops at the Pentagon, wonder if there will be some serious reflection. The US NAVY has an inordinate faith in its defensive systems. Yet how will they do if a technologically sophisticated opponent attacks an American fleet, loaded with sailors and Marines operating relatively close to a hostile shore? Always wondered why the US Navy has not conducted war games in a area that simulates the Persian Gulf. How well would the Navy do if they were attacked by dummy stealthy drones and shore to ship missiles in conjunction with an attack by suicidal swift boats and air attack?

Russia has always had a terrible Navy. Read about their expedition against Japan. What do you expect from a country without a warm water port.

There’s a disagreement on the cause of the fires that set
off the munitions explosions.

The headline isn’t exactly honest > IMO.

One report said the ship was under tow when hit. So it was already having a bad day.

Pravda says it sunk during a storm but was being towed after a fire.

A lot of interesting theories are being put forward but I think sabotage should be considered as well. Remember this guy?
