Former president Donald Trump’s Truth Social app is seeing a 93% drop in signups and similarly steep decline in traffic after a rocky rollout last month fraught with technical issues and an extensive waiting list for new signups to actually use the service.
After going live on President’s Day, the Twitter-lookalike app saw installs decline by more than 800,000 since its launch week, according to Sensor Tower. Installs on the Apple app store this month have fallen to about 60,000 per week, based on early estimates.

Why, because it hasn’t come out in perfect form on exactly the timetable initially thought viable (however it already IS out there but needs fine tuning). It is going to happen, just not on your demanding timetable. And you act like your ego isn’t involved. I respectfully disagree; I think that is exactly what is going on here. You think you know better.
I believe you think if you were in charge it would be done perfectly. Your need to list all of your tech kudo’s, impressive as they may be, shows that you feel you can nitpick Truth Social to death because it doesn’t meet your high standards.
Even though you have no idea what obstacles, pitfalls, etc. Truth Social has had to overcome to get their product out, be it technical issues, political issues, licensing or rules and regulations issues, general glitches that arise, etc. you make no allowances for that. The trains must run on time.
The only way this is “personal” to me is that I can’t stand that you and your fellow complainers are trying to tear down conservatives’ first and best effort to go up against Big (and corrupt) Tech to counteract their enormous negative influence on our country, and there you all are nickle and diming their efforts.
I find that unconscionable and beneath what your credentials imply. Then offer your services to Truth Social and go aid them in any way you can rather than bad rap them in the name of what? You sure aren’t helping in the morale category, are you. Which leads me to think you are puffing yourself up at the expense of the roll-out of the conservative media platform we so desperately need.
Why don’t you just lay off and leave the builders of the platform alone to iron out glitches. It’s the end result that counts, and there will be a good end result, just not on your personal timetable. So, hopefully although I doubt it, you and your fellow nitpicking cohorts will tone it down and/or just have nothing more to do with Truth Social, including using that which you choose to deride.
By the way, my 24 years on FR may not quite match your 30; we are however both up there in years as Freepers. This is one website I would never choose to not be on, and I am sure you feel the same.

The sad truth is even if I personally gain access to TS right this minute the problems with the system are still there and are quite monumental.
I have long said that everyone, every single person has their religion. It might not be an organized religion with ritual or dogma but everyone has their faith somewhere. With this I have said that to liberals many have as their religion their liberal viewpoints. Arguing politics with someone that has politics as their religion is usually impossible as is trying to argue one religion with a person that already has their religion. Facts and figures are often ignored.
Anyway, while I think conservative American politics are the best for us overall, some of us have the correct political “religion” but are still unable to incorporate rational thought or discussion. We say that liberals suffer from TDS, I think there is a reverse TDS out there also. That explains the outburst directed at you.

In it’s current configuration the app isn’t working that is for sure. Actually the part not working is probably the open source database the app interfaces with.
I have always been a believer that if you throw enough time and money at a problem the problem will go away. There are of course limits as to how much money would get wasted on this but the big question in my mind is just exactly what is the purpose of this adventure, what is it supposed to accomplish?
DWAC stock is down almost $10/share since Friday’s close it’s at $55/share, a 16% hit. This is in my opinion worse than the stupid app not working because you can make fun of an app not working but when you sink a company that is public traded that’s a whole different thing.
Where I think FRiends need to look is they allow their loyalty to cloud their ability to see reality as it is. Point out the obvious flaws and get branded a traitor.
I really quite honestly wouldn’t mind being proven incorrect on this but we are not going to see anything close to a fully functioning TS before labor day if even then.

The stock buy up was another red flag. Yes, it SHOULD have worked at that stock high SHOULD have been legit, but IIRC, certain circle insiders shorted it or sold long ago. Big red flags.
Now with two guys who know this world (Tech head and Product head) resigning... I dunno, man. It looks bad all around.
No one realistically expects this to replace twitter or Facebook in a few months. It takes a lot of money, servers, software, contracts, etc to sign up a hundreds of thousands of users in a short time. PCs are used for most computing, not Iphones. Over a million sign ups in a month, before a desktop version is available, is a plus, not a minus.
Alpha and Beta testing are fine when they are offered as that. In the case of Truth Social this was not and is simply a very lame excuse to dismiss the utter failure that occurred. And, sadly, still is. Heck, they even promised to have it all sorted out, working, and even Android and browser functionality by the end of March. Totally missed and complete silence. It is a shame that Trump’s name is associated with this failure, he should clean house, hire real IT management and entrepreneurs to get this done. But, even then, I think the failure so-far will linger forever. You don’t get do-overs with a big mea culpa and that is not Trump’s style.
And by the way, just checked and I am still number 567,378 on the waiting list which suggests they are not adding new users from the queue.
