Went to a summer party, a cookout. I knew it would be full of libs (teachers) so I wore my NRA hat. Guy came up and thought that was a great gag, laughed, and asked me where I got it. “I’m a member”, I told him. He still didn’t know if I was pulling his leg or not. “Do you hunt?”, he asked. “I don’t much want to, but I have to.” Now he’s really getting confused. “Whadda ya mean you have to?” “Well they won’t just come in and give themselves up ya know. That would be much more convenient. Like your steaks and burgers here.”
He wrinkled his brow, cocked his head to his right, squinted his eyes at me, looked at me maybe 3-4 seconds, straightened up, and walked away without saying another word. I smiled, turned away, and went to try out the potato salad, baked beans, and other goodies.
