Every guy knows it: To call someone a pussy as an insult is reserved for male-to-male denigration. And it has nothing to do with misogyny.

It has to do with the history of the term and what it represents.

A woman can, with a straight face and no hatred or dislike of her fellow females, call a man a pussy, and nothing cuts deeper. And she knows it.

It simply signifies “no stones” and all that comes from that.

Any man who lets a woman tell him how to be a man was never a man in the first place. Nothing is more pathetic than a woman saying "A real man would do x,y,z!" and a guy bowing his head and doing as she commands. Why? Because women can't ever really know what a real man is. They simply are not in the position of a man, never will be, and don't suffer the consequences of their actions as a man does, especially in the modern world.

Having said that, we are, indeed, suffering from a lack of balls in this era, and I respect Wolf for her courage and general gumption. The wheat is most definitely being separated from the chaff.

I have another acronym for the pejorative you just used. It's my favorite, one I learned while I was in the Army: REMF, or Rear Echelon MFer. The first one who comes to mind is Pete Buttigeg.

An REMF is an officer who is likely a great staff officer, but should never be allowed near soldiers in combat units. I was Air Defense Artillery for 8 years, and I bristled when I came into contact with staff officers trying to tell me the right way to do things.

I had a couple of commanders who were REMFs, they never let us Platoon Leaders do our jobs. All 4 of us were damn good, too.
