TULSA, Okla. — U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) is expected to announce his resignation on Monday, according to a New York Times report Thursday.

The report says Inhofe would remain in his seat through the end of the congressional session.

Inhofe, 87, already announced after his reelection in 2020 that this would be his last term.

He's been in office since 1994.

If Inhofe resigns on or before March 1, a special election for the vacancy would be a part of the November ballot.

Stitt is an idiot so don’t expect him to do something good.
I’d love to see T.W. Shannon

One agrees with both of those statements.

The fascists in the sierra Club hated him, so Inhofe must have done something right.

Georgia had that crackpot Democrat lawyer (Lin Wood) telling people not to vote GOP.

And thanks in part to that, Georgia is now represented by a thirty-something geek and a crazed Leftist preacher.

“Probably not half of 1% of Georgia voters have even heard the name Lin Wood.”

500,000 to be exact (people who voted for Trump in November but didn’t vote in January). They had Wood all over the news, for obvious reasons, and they pulled it off!!!

Interesting - so the law will allow for mere “notice of resignation” to trigger an election vs. an actual resignation?

Not super familiar with Oklahoma politics - only name that jumped out at me as a “big name” would be TW Shannon who lost the primary to Lankford back in 2014...looked him up and no indication he’s interested in running for office again.

Who do you think may be waiting in the wings?

87! Can’t these parasites just retire at 65 or 70, or even 75, and go play golf or something? We are ruled by ancient, corrupt narcissists.

Virtually no one listened to him, correct. But it only took a very, very small handful to change the outcome of those races.

Not even close. That debacle falls right on Loeffler and Perdue. Trump did all he could for them. Neither of them defended Trump on the election being stolen. Either of them were Trump loyalists. Neither of them fought when both their seats were stolen. Can’t blame Woods for that!

LOL, your numbers are way off, probably because you pulled them out of your butt. Reality is that both parties had the expected drop off in voters in a run-off compared to a general Presidential election.

But the fact remains, you don't live here, I do. Lin Wood didn't do anything. But I get it, Vote Jeb! 2024!

Yeah, I like Dahm. But he's so old school it's almost like publicity stunts. You think he's genuine?

Remember, jorge busho masqueraded as a conservative, until he didn't.

I just use official results. Feel free to not accept them if that’s necessary.

“is it greed of power and money that keeps them there past their time, prime and usefulness?”

Excellent question.

Unfortunately the real reason is that the lobbyists that own them usually have blackmail files to keep the politician in line.

One owned politician in the hand is worth two in the bush.

;-)

“ancient, corrupt narcissists.”

Many of them would love a leisurely and reasonable retirement, but if they do it early without “permission” their dirty secrets get dumped by the special interests that own them. That damages their entire family—particularly if the dirt is nasty enough...
