Yes booster shots are “needed” for some for access purposes. For example, hundreds of thousands of UC and Cal State students are required to be boosted before starting spring semester—which means their deadline might occur right after or during their current bout of Covid.

We had it in September 2021 — I’m thinking Delta — and are waiting to see if/when we get sick again.
