Several students at Blake High School accuse a teacher of sexually inappropriate behavior — and the Hillsborough School district drags its feet. A teenage boy warns classmates about a student who repeatedly sexually harassed others — and the district expels the boy who raised the red flag. Another student says she was raped on campus — and she gets suspended. Time and again the adults in charge failed to take the students’ complaints seriously, a devastating Times investigation found. Instead, they targeted the whistleblowers, deflected blame and seemingly forgot that they aren’t supposed to turn high school into an even scarier place.

The following year, feeling as if the district still hadn’t done anything to stop the harasser, the boy used Apple’s AirDrop feature to warn everyone in the area with an iPhone about the student. For that, the boy was expelled. The boy admits he could have handled the situation better, but his actions illustrate the desperation and anxiety that arose from the school’s ham-handed response to the harassment allegations.
It gets worse. In her Jr. year a girl said a student raped her in the hallway as she was working on an art project. The school concluded the girl, who may have autism, willingly had sex on campus and suspended her and the boy.
2 years later the same boy, who had turned 18, was accused of raping a 14-year-old girl with Asperger syndrome. He was charged under the state’s statutory rape law and pleaded guilty to felony battery with probation that included sex offender treatment.
The school suspended the 14-year-old girl. That’s right: The school suspended the victim of a sex crime.
I ran across this and wanted to post it because my daughter attended/graduated from this school. We were living in Tampa during my father’s cancer diagnosis and passing for 2 years and this school was a magnet school that she wanted to go to. It was so liberal in 2000 that I can only imagine how bad it is 21 years later.....
This is how great nations rot from within. Unfortunately these “educators” are not atypical. In fact they reflect the epicurean, decadent values that have been embraced by a large percentage of the population. Democrats are not the product of a cultural, social or political vacuum.
The remedy is to encourage students and parents to take the crimes directly to the police, bypassing woke school officials, and to require DA’s to prosecute.
To many bureaucrats, incentives to keep any statistic down means you just quit reporting it. Problem solved. But how do they account for the rise in “false” reports? Oh, those numbers probably aren’t tracked.
1) This is how many schools have handled the “bully” problems for decades — the victim of the bully is the one that gets punished. Why not? He (or she) is a weak little sissy, so let’s all pile on and give ‘em hell. The bully, on the other hand, is not punished. Probably on the football team.
2) Classic argument against Home Schooling is “they’ll miss out on the socialization”. Well, THIS is the socialization. And I’d say you’re better off if you miss out on it.

Why, on God’s green earth, people still send their kids to public hell holes falsely named “public schools” is beyond me.

Well said; but home schooling parents still need to be concerned about what’s happening in the public schools — because the bullies who get away with it will still be running loose after graduation.
‘The school suspended the boy — the whistleblower — for cyberbullying. As he was being punished, he met with a deputy. “He said they could be lying,” the boy wrote, referring to the 4 girls. “The deputy said that.”’
Well, they could be lying. And then he would be spreading hearsay and slander about someone that he has no proof did anything wrong.
Also, why didn’t the girls report it to the school themselves?
Psychopaths get in to positions of power and then use their authority to protect other psychopaths and wreak havoc on decent people. That’s all that’s happening here. It is not “timidity”. It is evil. Psychopaths are very adept at putting on false fronts to hide their nasty sick intentions.
Time for the parents, families and friends of the victims to visit Hamurabbi’s Code on the administrators.
Your reason #1 was why my husband and I pulled our daughter out of the school she was in back in September. She had been a student there since K5 and this was the only school she had attended (7th grade now). When we asked her about why she never told us what was happening as it was happening earlier she simply said “that’s the way it was there and I thought that was the way it was supposed to be.” :0(
The school she is in now is a private school attended by the children of several officers from the local military base (Shaw AFB). It is an amazing place and a God send.

Seriously, the school has a proven track record of retaliating against anyone who reports sexual harassment or sexual assault. So why would they report this to the damned liberal hobgoblins who run the place knowing full well they’ll only face retaliation?
