Two of my class of 1980 classmates died this week of covid. Both unvaccinated.

Three weeks ago lost a 29 year old man in my town. His wife is 6 months pregnant

If this stuff all really happened, then you have my regrets. However, I can't help but be amazed that every once in a while we have someone get on here talking about the death and devastation that COVID has wrought upon his community, when I have been part of a community of thousands of supposedly high risk individuals (in terms of exposure) since this thing began and have NO such stories to tell.

In fact, I still don't know of a single person, on a personal level, who has died of COVID. I don't even know anyone who has had major illness from this crap. That's not to say that no one has in the entire world, but I am perplexed by the statistical anomaly.

But the addition of "His wife is 6 months pregnant" was quite poignant, I must say.

It would seem some of us get a lot of bad luck, and some a lot of good. And some in between.

Mostly I’ve been OK. MIL died of it, but no one else I knew who had it even went to the hospital. Many of us had it but even my elderly mom and her friend did not have trouble with it. And, we just found out the other week, praise God, that a former employee of my hubby’s with cystic fibrosis, who suffered COVID and was given no hope after what it did to his lungs, has reappeared when hubby had to have an interview with a prospective new employer. He had quit in despair and didn’t even take his work benefits, so they had no clue what happened to him. Assumed he would die. It was so sad. But then, hubby was asked about him last week!
