To me, the lack of details surrounding his death indicates it was something besides Covid.
If it were proved to be Covid, they would be trumpeting the information far and wide.

I would imagine he went to Florida so his family could be with him in the hospital. Here in Washington if you are lucky you can have one visitor at a time if they are vaccinated and test negative, and people can’t trade off. Unless you are actively dying, at which point SOME hospitals will allow family in (in our case two at a time) to briefly say goodby
