... police departments are preparing behind the scenes for what could be a weekend of chaos
Sergeant Betsy Brantner Smith, a retired 20 year veteran, said violence is 'likely' and it may start tonight
The fact the verdict came in on a Friday means more people are likely to protest because they aren't at work
It also came in late so it will be darker sooner in much of the country than it was in August last year
She said forces must use a zero tolerance policy but that local, state and federal leaders need to urge calm too

Who knows, it was different, The ultrasound tech who conducted the tests on my wife came from the opposite direction this morning and made the trip to the hospital in record time for him.
He had called the check in desk and told the receptionists to process his two early afternoon patients if we were in. Then, he had the receptionist calling the rest of his appts. and asking them to come in early while seeing my wife earlier than her appt..
We were surprised when he showed up in the waiting room, an hour early, and asked for the guy ahead of us and then my wife.
What fury? Some paid for big mouths.
You can't "build back" until you tear it down. They're not rioters and looters, they're "infrastructure demolition specialists."
Just in time for the Christmas looting season
“”” they’re “infrastructure demolition specialists.””””
I like that. Expect to see me quote that in future threads.
Police will likely respond with a “zero effectiveness” policy. Officers are rational and not willing to endue bruising court trials and jail for the “crime” of enforcing the law.
I’m sensing and feeling some pent-up violence too.
And I’m liking some of the suggestions. Maybe it will turn out that all that equipment Obiden left in Afghanistan will actually save lives here because it isn’t here. Irony eh?
Let’s go Kyles.
Whack-a-Mole on steriods!
And is there any news of anything happening or will they riot tomorrow?
Here in PA it’ll be 30 degrees tonight. I surmise Wisconsin might be even more chilly. For sure it isn’t August there. If they burn any dumpsters tonight it’ll be to huddle around.
Nothing. The best theory I’ve seen from folks commenting among threads is that we should keep in mind the summer of riot in 2020 was mostly hyped to make Trump look bad. Now that Biden’s in...
Of course, it could just be that the only ones thinking riot are the commie talking heads on TV and it won’t happen because more folks found out the actual facts of the case than we realize.
You probably don’t want people who disagree with this verdict on juries. Just saying.
This.
It is easy to root for trouble somewhere else. People in the cheap seats do that all the time (and I am guilty of that sometimes).
We all need to understand that every event has some consequences, often nasty ones visited upon innocents.
So; what do you suggest that THEY do about the situation?
Kyle tried running away from them, but this proved to be ineffective.
Finally; when cornered, he defended himself.
When the redcoats set the church on fire that you've huddled in, the thing to do is to get out of it, even if this means you get shot.
I’ve only been on one jury, and that was before I got a policeman as a son-in-law.
I found it was nothing like the movies. I felt I was the only one there that actually did much thinking, as there was so much FEELING going on!
Set the scene: a woman leaves for work in the morning. A young man accosts her in the apartment parking lot, forces her to drive her car down a deserted farm lane. Manages to fire his gun thru the seat into her back as he hides in the rear. Then rapes her, takes her purse, some jewelry and flees.
The women jurors tended to think the woman had something to do with it - the men wondered how she could identify him - no one seemed to accept the DNA specialist and nurse testimony that collected the sperm from the woman.
12 Angry Men couldn’t have done it better!
But, thankfully, we put this perp away for a long, LONG time!
After the trial, the prosecutor thanked us for our service and then was able to tell us the length of the rap sheet on this guy!
The victim had described him to the police artist and the local cops knew him from the drawing!
They found the jewelry in his apt.
