Gov. Tom Wolf apologized on Tuesday for his “honest mistake” in asking his wife to deliver his mail-in ballot for the Nov. 2 election.
In a morning interview on the same KDKA radio show where he admitted to a violation of an election law two weeks ago, Wolf apologized.
“I’m sorry. I did it. It was an honest mistake,” Wolf said. “But yeah, it was. I guess they say ignorance of the law is no defense, but I’m sorry, I apologize”
Wolf admitted he asked his wife Frances to drop off his ballot.
“It was my idea. She said I’m going in,” he said. “I said could you take mine with you.”
In Pennsylvania, election law bars anyone other than the voter to deliver a completed mail-in or absentee ballot in most instances. The exceptions are if a voter with a disability designates a representative to deliver their ballot for them or if a voter authorizes another person to return an emergency absentee ballot. Violating this law can be punishable by up to one year in prison, a fine of up to $1,000 or both.
Kyle King, a spokesman for the York County District Attorney’s Office, said on Tuesday the office doesn’t comment on the existence of an investigation. He further declined to say if a complaint had been received about how the governor voted.
But Wolf didn’t shy away from acknowledging his error during the radio interview.
He said, “Hey, I just want to make a confession that wasn’t the first time I made a mistake in my life and it won’t be the last. I’m pretty sure.”
Pennsylvania Ping!
Please ping me with articles of interest.
FReepmail me to be added to the list.
LOCK HIM UP! LOCK HIM UP! LOCK HIM UP!
“accepting responsibility” and then not receiving proper and full punishment is not accepting responsibility.
Put the Wolf in a cage!
Imagine if Steve Bannon had done that, the DOJ would be doing an early morning raid.
If he really wanted to take responsibility he would have his wife turn herself in and confess to breaking election law. Then he would support her while she worked through her consequences. This is just an attempt to keep her out of trouble. If my wife collides with another car while she is out running an errand for me, I don’t get to transfer the consequences to me. I’m sick of people who keep “taking the responsibility” for things they never expect to get punished for.
Too bad that he’s not Samurai.
All just for show.
See, this sort of thing is just an honest mistake that happens all the time. Woman shows up at the polling place with a suitcase full of filled out ballots, she’s probably just doing all the people in her very very large family a favor, that’s all.
Bill O’Rielly has a video on Zuckerberg’s role in using mailin ballots to rig the election. This is more on that subject:

The directions relating to absentee ballots are usually printed very clearly on the ballot or the ballot envelope. I guess the governor is not responsible for reading the directions.
Him asking her to break the law doesn’t absolve her from guilt. If somebody “asks” me to rob a bank, that doesn’t get me off.
Governor Wolfe and his wife are both guilty of breaking election law and need to be charged.
Wolf and honest in the same sentence??? I think not!
Maybe the governor self-identified as having some sort of disability...
Who cares. the moron murdered a bunch of old folks and destroyed businesses all across PA.
Wolf takes blame for breaking election law, says he asked wife to drop off ballotToo bad no one at Fox News has the balls to come clean on 2020.
Pfft...Elites don’t have to obey the rules
I believe the spirit of the law is to prevent the delivery of improper ballots,
Not to punish the improper delivery of valid ballots.
So the crime that has been committed is the acceptance of the ballot by the voting precinct. It indicates they are not fulfilling the legal safeguards against receiving improper and/or false ballots.
