MADISON, Wis. (AP) — On the surface, it looked like prosecutors’ easiest task at Kyle Rittenhouse’s murder trial would be convicting him of a much less significant charge — being a minor in possession of a firearm.
Rittenhouse was 17 when he shot three people, killing two, with a semi-automatic rifle on the streets of Kenosha, Wisconsin, during a protest against police brutality last year. Prosecutors brought multiple charges against him, including first-degree intentional homicide, attempted homicide, reckless endangerment and the firearm possession count.

The guy is crazy or worse.
Active shooter!
I love this game...It's called...suppose, suppose...
Suppose someone on the jury had a gun...and felt threatened....
Hope Alec Baldwin didn’t hand him the weapon.
I have the feeling this prosecutor doesn’t really care about the outcome of the case, or possibly is even trying to lose it. Its more like he’s trying to make some ideological point.
Suppose a Court Security Guard perceived a threat...and took the guy out.
‘The guy is crazy or worse.”
Why do you think the judge is crazy?
It’s clear to me that it was intended only for the short barrel situation as Wisconsin is an avid hunting state and there are special youth seasons where they are allowed to have weapons in their possession at a young age... so....unless they want to attempt to kill youth hunting then they are out of luck.\

” when he shot three people, killing two, with a semi-automatic rifle “
Couldn’t that statement have included the possibility that it was in self defense?
Related to the trial: The picture in this series of posts shows the prosecution’s lawyer aiming the gun allegedly toward the people in the courtroom. On the NBC nightly news the picture was only of him holding the gun pointed toward the ceiling.
It would be a good start.
Rittenhouse is very fortunate to have a competent judge presiding over his trial.
What they "dug up" was text of the law that was anything but plain.
The Wisconsin legislature, in attempting to create an exception for 16 and 17 year olds to hunt with rifles or shotguns without adult supervision, instead made an incomprehensible mish-mash of double negatives.
Gun Charges were dropped because under Wisconsin law it was legal for Kyle to have the gun....BUT wadding through the applicable laws is very confusing, even for the Judge. So, he saved them the trouble and tossed the charges.
One thing that NBC does not provide is ‘nightly news.’
There is no News being presented by that sleazy outfit. It is all sheer propaganda.
A good lawyer and a judge who is not out to make ideological points
Unreal- all the publicity after the shooting by Alec Baldwin and the safe gun rules- 1-never, ever, EVER point a gun at someone you don’t intend to shoot. 2- Always check yourself to see if there’s any rounds. Did the prosecuter check?
Truly a wonder to behold.
I give Kyle kudos. He knew he was allowed to carry the rifle, but not a handgun, unlike lefty, the other “EMT”.
