We go nuts with these buildups which occur every few months in the same way as we go nuts when planes are in international waters in the Pacific which Palin can see from her window.

Wasn’t there a German troop build up at the Czech border just before Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia?

“The Biden administration is “monitoring the situation “very closely,” Blinken added.”

That makes me feel soooo much better.

Why not?

Ukraine is itching for another incursion. I expect them to do whatever it takes to provoke one.

The Kiev government needs to be satisfied that the coup gave them control over the areas that it did. They grabbed territory with a coup, so the people in the Donbass and Crimea have that same right.
Seizing a capitol city doesn’t mean you rightfully inherit everything the old country had. Everyone else in the nation has the same right to grab control of their areas too.

But Kiev actually launched this war for one reason only. To get the Maidan militias and street rioters out of town and let them have a cause. The new government doesn’t want that same crowd hanging around Kiev.

Russia has never planned on invading Ukraine, and won't do so "unless provoked"

Putin already invaded Ukraine in 2014. The Russians never left.
