We aren’t a country 15 miles wide with enemies ready to storm the border. And also, the Israelis do not use them the way you think they do. Also, we have a amendment forbidding involuntary servitude except as punishment for a crime. There is no exception for “unless it’s to send you to war”. Woodrow Wilson found his way around that by saying that when Congress declared war, the entire nation had volunteered through it’s representatives. So he created Selective Service that was merely choosing from a giant pool of “volunteers”.
