He might have, but his remarks apply better to BLM and Antifa.
The part about “defiling national symbols” strongly suggests that he was talking about 1/6. Antifa may have burned flags and attacked a courthouse, but they weren’t given all the “defiling national symbols” treatment by the media.
Well, since their seems to be no clear answer and many are confused, maybe George can publicly clarify what he meant? Either way, I am not sure referencing nay of this was in good taste for the anniversary. He should have stuck to honoring the first responders, the dead, the families, etc. All around bad idea.
