I’m a CA , it will be tough due to ethnic block voting, there is a chance that Newsome might be recalled.
But the state, thanks to illegal immigration, is only 36.6% white, 40% Hispanic ,they vote 70/30 Dem , 15% Asian (now also close to 70/30 Dem, 8% black (they go 90/10 Dem) so this ethnic black voting is tough to overcome. Contrary to the myth of white liberals -there are some but it is the ethnic block voting that keeps the liberals in power here and in other states.
BTW this is the driving force of any states going purple, NV,CO,NM etc-Just look at the states won by Trump in 20016,he won 32 states but only 4 have a population of Hispanic voters over 13%. Clinton by contrast won 28 states and only 5 had a Hispanic population of under 13%.
Oh at last thought on CA : they already caught a guy in Torrance CA with 300 absentee ballots so if it gets closer then the Dems will cheat
means more voter fraud needed
Understand your perspective. Even if Elder somehow miraculously gets elected I don’t see him being able to do much in a state that’s as dominated by Democrats as CA. It looks like a lost cause to me.

If we can damage Newsom to the point where he is no longer a viable national candidate we have done this nation a huge service. So. Not a lost cause.
Also he has had to restrain his totalitarian tendencies for the past few months. Again not a lost cause.
