As Delta Variant Spreads, Florida Hospitals Race to Find Open Beds
Wall Street Journal ^ | 08/09/2021 | Melanie Evans

ORLANDO—Nurse Darlene Andrews stood before a small crew responsible for stopping the latest pandemic surge from overrunning seven of AdventHealth’s Orlando-area hospitals.

She quickly listed occupancy at each hospital. Six were beyond full capacity, with one at 123% for adults. Nearby wall-mounted screens streaming hospital data showed more than 90 patients—some with Covid-19, some seeking other care—needed beds. One had been waiting more than two days.

A hospital in Altamonte Springs, Fla., and another east of downtown Orlando were the current hot spots, nurse Andrew Stakelum told the group, a team that oversees work that has become critical for U.S. hospitals during each pandemic surge: finding an open bed for severely ill patients. Delays leave patients unstable from Covid-19 or other ailments in dangerous limbo.

Prior surges have helped the team and other staff of AdventHealth’s mission control, which monitors hospital capacity and coordinates transfers, prepare for the latest wave of patients, executives involved in the response said.

The flagship hospital, north of downtown Orlando, took all Covid-19 patients in the spring 2020 surge. That wasn’t possible in the larger surge that followed in July 2020, when mission control staff triaged and moved patients across all seven hospitals.

ALTERNATIVE SAFE WAYS TO KEEP YOUR RESISTANCE UP & FIGHT COVID -19. AS WELL AS “VARIATIONS” AND A HOST OF OTHER INFECTIONS INCLUDING THE FLU.

THIS REGIME WILL “NOT” PREVENT YOU FROM CATCHING THIS CRAZY VIRUS BUT IF YOU DO, IT WILL HELP TO SHAKE IT OFF FAIRLY QUICK, FOR SOME PEOPLE IT WORKS SO WELL THEY DON’T EVEN FEEL THEY GOT IT. BESIDES IT WILL ALSO WORK AGAINST OTHER RELATED VIRUSES; NOT ONLY THAT, BUT WILL BENEFITS YOUR HEALTH AS WELL, IF YOU CATCH THIS VIRUS OR NOT. EITHER WAY YOU WIN. ALONG WITH IT YOU WILL HAVE AQUIRED NATURAL IMMUNITY WITOUT ANY SHORT OR LONG TERM ADVERSE SIDE EFFECTS.

There are other ways and means to enhance your resistance against viruses including that by now infamous covid-19 virus aside from taking any of these “Quick” developed vaccines utilizing a messenger RNA. So far science has not evolved far enough yet to be certain how the human body will react many month or years down the road once we start tinkering around with our RNA and how our bodies will react should we encounter mutated strains of similar viruses.

Below is a list of vitamins as well as nutrients SUGGESTED BY A PHYSICIAN to enhance your resistance, they are harmless and even beneficial to your body unless someone goes crazy and over doing it. Even so they will NOT protect you from getting any specific viruses; neither will any of those new “QUICK” developed vaccines. But not only will they make you more resistant but also help you to overcome the effects of such a virus more quickly, should you have bad luck getting it. And once you are over it, your natural immune system will take over and protect you considerably better than any vaccination, this according to a statement by Merck. The CATCH is to have these vitamins/nutrients in your system BEFORE you think you have caught this virus, as time is of essence so your system starts fighting the virus BEFORE it gets a chance to do any damage.

A suggestion to the wise, take some time and read up on each of these suggested components which is freely available on the internet.

Vitamin D — Vitamin D supplements are readily available and one of the least expensive supplements on the market. All things considered, vitamin D optimization is likely the easiest and most beneficial strategy that anyone can do to minimize their risk of COVID-19 and other infections, and can strengthen your immune system in a matter of a few weeks.

N-acetylcysteine (NAC) — NAC is a precursor to reduced glutathione, which appears to play a crucial role in COVID-19. According to one literature analysis,7 glutathione deficiency may actually be associated with COVID-19 severity, leading the author to conclude that NAC may be useful both for its prevention and treatment. For best results should always be taken with two to three times the amount of vitamin C.

Zinc — Zinc plays a very important role in your immune system’s ability to ward off viral infections.

Like vitamin D, zinc helps regulate your immune function8 — and a combination of zinc with a zinc ionophore, like hydroxychloroquine or quercetin, was in 2010 shown to inhibit SARS coronavirus in vitro. In cell culture, it also blocked viral replication within minutes.9 Importantly, zinc deficiency has been shown to impair immune function.

Melatonin — Boosts immune function in a variety of ways and helps quell inflammation. Melatonin may also prevent SARS-CoV-2 infection by recharging glutathione11 and enhancing vitamin D synthesis, among other things.

Vitamin C — A number of studies have shown vitamin C can be very helpful in the treatment of viral illnesses, sepsis and ARDS,12 all of which are applicable to COVID-19. Its basic properties include anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, antioxidant, antithrombotic and antiviral activities. At high doses, it actually acts as an antiviral drug, actively inactivating viruses. Vitamin C also works synergistically with quercetin.

Quercetin — Quercetin is the most abundant dietary flavonoid, found enriched in cranberry, onions, blueberry, apples, and tea. As a polyphenol compound, it is ALSO considered a potent iron chelator. A powerful immune booster and broad-spectrum antiviral, quercetin was initially found to provide broad-spectrum protection against SARS coronavirus in the aftermath of the 2003 SARS epidemic,14,15,16 and evidence suggests it may be useful for the prevention and treatment of SARS-CoV-2 as well. Not only that but quercetin also acts as an ionophore for zinc similar to hydroxychloroquine, in a matter of speaking it will unlock the cells to let the zinc in where it can attack the virus . It is also a good pain killer and better for the human body than Aspirin, what helps to subdue arthritis pain. I is good for sinus infection, in other words if you happen to have a runny nose. Past studies have also shown that quercetin showed potent ability against some viruses, such as enterovirus, Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV), and the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV).

B vitamins — B vitamins can also influence several COVID-19-specific disease processes, including17 viral replication and invasion, cytokine storm induction, adaptive immunity and hypercoagulability.

SUGGESTED DOSAGE

All components as suggested are individually obtained and freely available and if used with some common sense are not harmful and if anything beneficial to your health. However it is a good idea and highly recommended to read up on each component, as there is plenty of information available on the internet. You may be surprised to find out and learn about the many benefits they provide to your health.
Here is a suggested approximate dosage for each.

Vitamin D 1500 IU

Malatonine 3mg to 6mg suggested about one hour before you go to sleep.

QUERCETIN 500 mg to 1000 mg

NAC 500 mg to 1000 mg

Zinc 50 mg

Vitamin C 1500 mg or MORE !! but always should be to two three times as much as NAC

Vitamin B complex

So far whoever has been taking this regime of supplements and may have had a brush with this virus, shook it off fairly easily and quickly and the most important thing was that in the process such a person also acquired natural immunity. Not only that but at the same time this regime also helps to ease the effects of the regular flu.

Good post.
I have been on that same vitamin regimen since April 2020 along with approx 25 friends/family members. All of us socially active...restaurants, church, weddings, travel, etc. In other words, we’ve not changed our lives the past year. Not a one of us has tested positive and not a one has even had a cold. I’ve added hydroxychloroquine 200mg each Sunday starting about 6 mos ago.

Excellent regimen. Pretty much what I’ve been doing. I have been taking 5000 iu of Vit D3 per day for years and have never been sick (thank you Lord). With the China Virus, I upped it to 10,000 iu. I think zinc and quercetin are the most important.

Been on similar regimens since August of 2020. Attended parties public events even a professional football game. Oh, and I fall in the high-risk category.
Also posted recently about hearing friends and associates who’ve taken the jab complain about the after effects.
Also note that my position would not recommend that I take this experimental vaccine.

Here is how Arizona's picture looks:

COVID cases are increasing as a percentage, although not too quickly. Over 10% are empty. And "normal" empty is about 15%. I watch the numbers daily. My GUESS is that AZ is peaking right now and will start coming down. It has been 5 weeks since cases started rising. Deaths are greater than in June but no worse than in May - and I mean slightly higher than in June.

To my knowledge I have not heard or read of any particular brand to avoid. My hunch is that most QUERCETIN probably comes from the same source.

In addition, do not forget to include NAC as it is an important component in that regime or formula.

N-Acetyl Cysteine

N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) is a metabolite of the sulfur-containing amino acid, Cysteine. Cysteine is found in high protein foods, N-Acetyl Cysteine is not. N-Acetyl Cysteine is produced within the human body. Cysteine plays a role in the sulfation cycle, acting as a sulfur donor in phase II detoxification and as a methyl donor in the conversion of homocysteine to methionine. Cysteine also helps synthesize glutathione, one of the body’s most important natural antioxidants and detoxifiers. N-Acetyl-Cysteine is the acetylated form of L-Cysteine.

N-Acetyl Cysteine increases Glutathione Levels
N-Acetyl Cysteine is rapidly metabolized to intracellular glutathione. Glutathione acts as a powerful antioxidant in the body. Glutathione also detoxifies chemicals into less harmful compounds. N-Acetyl Cysteine also protects the body from acetaminophen toxicity and is used in hospitals for patients with acetaminophen poisoning. It has also been shown to be effective at treating liver failure from other causes as well.

N-Acetyl Cysteine Chelates Heavy Metals
Heavy metals like lead, mercury and arsenic are detoxified and removed from the body by N-Acetyl Cysteine . It also increases the excretion of zinc and other essential minerals when taken over an extended period. It is therefore necessary to supplement zinc, copper and other trace minerals when taking N-Acetyl Cysteine.

N-Acetyl Cysteine and the Immune System
Glutathione is known to aid in the transport of nutrients to lymphocytes and phagocytes, two major classes of immune cells, and to protect cell membranes. While purified glutathione is available as a dietary supplement, absorption is low, and N-Acetyl Cysteine is thought to be a better method of boosting cellular glutathione levels. N-Acetyl Cysteine is being investigated as a treatment for AIDS.

N-Acetyl Cysteine Breaks up Mucus
N-Acetyl Cysteine cleaves disulfide bonds by converting them to two sulfhydryl groups. This action results in the breakup of mucoproteins in lung mucus, reducing their chain lengths and thinning the mucus, improving conditions such as bronchitis and flu. Double-blind research has found that N-Acetyl Cysteine supplements improved symptoms and prevented recurrences in people with chronic bronchitis. N-Acetyl Cysteine at a dosage of 1,200 mg per day helps to prevent Influenza infection, reduces the symptoms of existing Influenza infection and reduces the duration of Influenza infections.

N-Acetyl Cysteine and Cancer
N-Acetyl CysteineN-Acetyl Cysteine has been shown to reduce the proliferation of certain cells lining the colon and may reduce the risk of colon cancer in people with recurrent polyps in the colon. Its action as an antioxidant and a glutathione precursor may also contribute to a protective effect against cancer.

N-Acetyl Cysteine Cautions
When taking N-acetyl cysteine it is recommended that two to three times as much vitamin C be taken at the same time. Failure to do so may result in more harm than good from taking this product because of the prolonged presence of the oxidized form of L-Cysteine. The vitamin C also helps keep the glutathione that is produced from the Cysteine in its reduced form so that it can continue acting as an antioxidant.

N-Acetyl Cysteine Dosage
Typical dosage recommendations are in the range of 250-1500mg of NAC daily for the majority of therapeutic benefits.

N-Acetyl Cysteine Safety
NAC is considered safe for consumption in its therapeutic dosage ranges. Individual reactions may vary and anyone experiencing adverse symptoms while taking N-Acetyl Cysteine should discontinue it.

Amazon does not have any N acetyl cysteine, I checked as the FDA told them not to sell it. What they have and sell is Acetyl L Carnitine which has altogether different properties. I would suggest to check your sources as one like NAC or N Acetyl Cysteine will work for fighting he virus and boost your Glutathione level, while Acetyl L-Carnitine may be good for other things may not be good for this purpose. When you are dealing with chemicals you have to be careful with their names as many may sound alike but have a different purpose.

It would be nice for you to confirm that you got my message about N Acetyl Cysteine and Acetyl L-Carnitine hat they positively are not the same and I hate to see you taking the wrong stuff and expect something you will not get.

Ron DeSantis is the threat to the Democrats in 2024 and that's why they're targeting him now.

They should be careful.

This is not his "final form"...

You are entirely incorrect. Northern Florida is pretty swamped. There are a lot of additional units opening and there is a scramble for beds. There is significant surge and most hospitals on the I-4 corridor and north are jam packed. The south part of the state is not doing too bad at this point.

In the southeast region there is a pretty good consortium of information on the professional level. You can claim its false all you want but there are a lot of hospitals that are at beyond 100% capacity at this time. There are hospital systems in North Florida that have halted visitors and elective surgeries that require overnight stays.

Not everything is a lie — not everything is meant to drive panic. The hospitals seem to be able to expand to handle it, and the death rate isn’t as high, but positives are clearly higher and they are real.

Desantis has taken the next reasonable step and is opening and increasing infusion centers throughout the state, particularly in the north to get people regeneron and monoclonals.

It is possible to have tight or over capacity hospital space, and still be able to manage. Not everything is mutually exclusive. The Southeast region is pretty hot at the moment, but probably at the peak and will start down the back side of the curve this week.
