“This bastid probably believes in the “right” to tax payer subsidized abortions....”

I was getting ready to make the same point. But of course the right to an abortion was discovered by 7 Justices within the “penumbra” of the assumed “right to privacy” implied by the 4th Amendment whereas “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” is only written by the Founders in the plain text of the 2nd Amendment.

Eric Ting needs to understand:

RAPE isn’t penis violence.

ARSON isn’t fire violence.

Murder isn’t gun violence.

ALL OF THE ABOVE ARE FORMS OF CRIMINAL VIOLENCE.

More people in the US are murdered with hammers than with AR-15’s.

Taxing people for exercising a Constitutionally-specified right—when the tax is limited to the exercise of the right, and is not imposed on any other activity—is Unconstitutional.

You can impose a sales tax on all retail transactions. You cannot Constitutionally impose a tax that applies only to voting, or only to publishing, or only to the practice of religion, or only to the keeping and bearing of arms. And that’s emphatically true if the reason you’re imposing the tax is because of your animus towards the exercise of the right.

Criminals use guns to commit violence. Why should law-abiding gun owners pay for that?
They already pay the costs of crime in higher taxes and other increased costs.

It sure does, doesn’t it? Except worse, because voting rights aren’t even addressed in the US Constitution. Apparently the right to keep and bear arms was more at the forefront of the men who had just fought a war against their sovereign to secure their God-given rights.

What’s next, San Jose? A tax on Christians worshiping God to pay for the damage caused by Muslim suicide bombers?

So they are gonna make all the criminals pay?

That’s what I thought.

Writs of attainder are unconstitutional and illegal.

Blatantly unconstitutional…car owners going to pay for all auto wrecks…doctors going to pay personally for all medical mistakes…c’mon mayor da…make individuals responsible for their actions …what a novel concept…

Is it right for non-voting tax payers to support the cost of elections?

We should make voters pay a poll tax to offset the cost of the elections.

"it does not require taxpayers to subsidize gun ownership"

we subsidize the drunks, the drugged, the bums, the misfits, the crooks, the homosexuals, etc etc....

This is exactly like charging a special tax on anything LEGAL that anyone possesses that can cause harm or death -— for example, knives (even in the kitchen), baseball bats and pipe, cars, etc., etc.

BTW baseball bats, pipes, and the like are used to kill 2-3 times as many as all long guns - of any type - combined.

Time for an exodus of law-abiding gun owners from San Jose.
