One curious side-story came up from a previous girlfriend (from a decade ago it appears), and she described him as a nutcase. Will be interesting to see if he was like the Vegas shooter, and on medication of some type.

There is violence each and every day in this country, from Chicago, to Atlanta, to New Orleans and now San Jose. The cause of this violence is not medication, but that we have too many violent thugs.

People are aware of our society medicating thousands of young people for “behavioral problems” when they are in elementary schools and higher. A LARGE number of those folks become permanent customers for the legal drug pushers(aka doctors, shrinks, etc). The majority of mass shootings are performed by the above group.
On a personal note. A friend, late 50’s, got talked into taking “antidepressants”. After 6 months on said meds, he went home one day and killed his wife and then killed himself. He was NOT suicidal prior to getting medicated.
