Graham calls for ‘draft Trump’ movement to kick-start 2024 WH campaign

Senator Lindsay Graham told Sean Hannity on May 18, 2021 that he would love to see Donald Trump back in the White House.

-------------------

Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-S.C.) is desperate to bring former President Donald Trump into the campaign fray regardless of whether the 45th president intends to run for his old office in 2024.

“I miss Donald Trump,” Graham told Fox News’ “Hannity” Tuesday night, adding, “I hope he’s considering running. Let’s start a ‘draft Trump’ movement. He’s the one guy I think can go to the American people and say, ‘Let me finish what I started. What I did worked.’”

Trump has not formally announced whether he will run for president again but has teased the possibility in several interviews.

The former president’s calendar is filling up, as well. Trump is scheduled to headline the North Carolina Republican Party convention on June 5 and is planning to hold two campaign-style rallies that same month.

The only grassroots movement to persuade a non-politician to mount a presidential campaign happened in 1952. After Dwight Eisenhower showed surprising strength in early nominating contests despite not being a declared candidate, he retired from the military in early June and formally entered the race. He was nominated at the Republican convention a month later and defeated Democrat Adlai Stevenson in the general election that November.

No. FIX 2020.

Above and beyond that, Graham isn’t to be trusted. It’s all about whatever benefits Graham.

I don’t believe a word this quisling says. DJT would be wise to keep him at arms length.

Even Anthony Fauci has a better track record on being steadfast in what he says than Senator Graham. Lets build a countdown clock to when he changes his decision, and we won’t need to even mess with an hour hand.

Anyone else get the feeling that he might have his eye on the VP nomination, which he might feel would be a very likely route to the presidency one way or another. Trump can only serve one more term.

I would be surprised if Trump wanted much to do with Mike Pence after the Jan 6 fiasco. Same goes for the voter base. Not thrilled with Graham myself but it would not be a ticket-breaker, you’d have to go some place like Romney to achieve that.

He may be a execrable scab, but he is a sure fire weather vane for which way the wind is blowing.

What Graham wants is to look like he's desperate to bring Trump into the campaign fray. Is there anyone who doesn't think that if lightning struck and Liz Cheney was the Republican candidate that Graham wouldn't be sucking up to her like crazy? Graham has no loyalty, no principles, no core beliefs.

Donald Trump for President and Ron DeSantis for VP in 2024. DeSantis is very capable and able to step up if he were called upon IMHO. What a ticket that would be.

Exactly. While I may appreciate the statement, I certainly know Graham is just a political stooge.
