Toilet paper; now chicken wings?
The owners of Nuby’s Steakhouse in Pocahontas, Illinois, and E. L. Flanagan’s in Highland, Illinois, said they haven’t been able to serve chicken wings like usual in their restaurants. The owners said they’ve been dealing with a chicken wing shortage from their suppliers.
Owner Connie Richardson said in her 30 years of business she’s never seen this.
“We had started stocking up about a month ago a little here and there and we’ll just deal with it – if we run out of boneless, we have the option to do bone-in,” she said.

“We’ve just been telling people that if they call, they will be rationed and well ask that they switch over to boneless for tonight,” Richardson said.
Stee Heimsath, the owner of E. L. Flanagan’s, said they canceled their weekly chicken wing deal which is usually held on Wednesday’s.
“It’s a predicament, we had to cancel our wing Wednesday promotion because we weren’t certain we would have the wings,” Heimsath said. “Some of the vendors are rationing who they’ll give wings too.”

Americans eat a lot of chicken. An average of 94lbs per year per person.
Who has 1/2 of that “shortage” in their freezer?
Who buys 6-10 fryers every time they go on sale?
Come on now, raise your hands...we all do it because it makes sense and we like our chicken.
Bacon was pretty short for several weeks at my local Walmart. They didn't even have any at the Walmart a half-hour away from me. I like the thick-cut bacon, and they had none for the longest time. Was finally able to get two packages on Tuesday.
My local Walmart has had empty shelves for at least 3-4 years. It didn't start with the Kung-flu.
Interesting just on Monday I picked up a two+ pound pack of fresh Tyson Wings at “The Grocery Outlet” in So Cal. Great price to boot.

Went to a concert last night, opened show with a comedian who’s been doing standup for 30 years.
He could hear the laughs but said it was odd not being able to see grins and smiles to read the audience’s reactions

But think, an industry that gets the public to pay a buck a pound for chicken bones they would have had to pay to dispose of. Sheer genius.
I think those wings and tiny drummies with a few scraps of meat on them are the dumbest thing to pay cash money for!

This time next year I’ll have a whole beef steer in my freezer. He has an appointment at the ‘spa’ for March, 2022.
His name is, ‘Weber.’ Black Angus and Holstein dairy cow mix. Somebody jumped the fence! ;)

Wings (imo) are a canvas for the sauce. Good sauce = good wings and vice versa.
I eat them weekly at the local grille in Juno Beach and they are voted every year as the best in Palm Beach County. Their sauce recipe is guarded and is very hard to replicate.
