The Atlanta Police Department has taken to social media to beg residents: please stop shooting each other.
“We’re hoping that people will see the message and think twice before they resort to picking up a gun,” department spokeswoman Chata Spikes told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
“Anger + Guns Adds Up to Nothing Good,” reads a Facebook post that pictures the equation’s answer as a flower-bedecked coffin.

Why didn’t we think of that?! Maybe they should also make it illegal to shoot someone. Surely that would work!
Begging accented with groveling and self flagellation will probably be more effective.
They should urge people to move to Chicago where they are less likely to be shot by an Atlantan.
Odd, there’s even more guns per capital in the rest of the state - and far less murder. Maybe there’s something about urban culture?

I realize that fathers marrying the mothers of their children and staying around to rear them would help, but that fixes the problem 15-20 years from now not now.
I feel bad for the decent people who find themselves living in the midst of all of this.
Can’t imagine the paperwork these shootings produce. But at this point, paperwork is about all cops are allowed to do these days, so let the bastards keep shooting each other.

Can't help but wonder if this campaign was designed by a top-tier PR firm. If so, it may have cost tens of thousands of dollars.
And this is the best plan officials could come up with after weeks of study.

Unfortunately, in ghetto culture, there are short tempers, and being “dissed” or disrespected, is often responded to with violence.
And, settling disputes over drug deals gone bad, will result in someone getting shot.

To be fair the Bee recognizes the problem and has started another website called Not the Bee to cover actual headlines.
Crimes of opportunity. For black criminals other blacks are the most opportune.
