Jeb Bush: America is failing its workforce
cnn ^ | 04/08/2021 | Jeb Bush

Posted on 04/09/2021 8:40:13 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

America doesn't have a jobs problem. It has a pathways-to-jobs problem. Our economy is producing jobs -- there were 7.4 million open jobs as of February in the midst of a pandemic -- but our education system isn't preparing people to fill those jobs.

What's worse, our workforce policies do a poor job of retraining people for the workforce of tomorrow. According to a study by PwC, roughly three out of four working Americans are ready to learn new skills to stay employable, but government-sponsored job training programs have a mixed-to-poor track record.

YMMV but I think incumbent Pres. Harris could beat Jeb fairly. Some 50M people voted for Biden, that’s a lot of stupid. More would vote for her. Not to mention Jeb’s candidacy would demoralize many Republicans, and they’d stay home. Heck, I would not vote for him. Because Terri.

Basically a plea by employers for government to spend more money to improve their capital stock by spending money on training that employers used to provide. They (of course) will reap higher profits while the rest of us pickup the tab.

Assuming the "better-educated" but "dumb" American isn't replaced by a H1B visa holder or wetback.

How about we just return to a high tariff barrier, broken monopolies, fewer taxes and regulations and near zero immigration? You know, like when we had plenty of high-paying jobs for "unskilled" labor.

They need to turn Florida and Texas blue - so they let the Bush escape from their cage.

It’s none of that.
We are paying people not to work.
Why can’t he put the blame on Biden, where it belongs?

But Americans don’t want to do jobs, that’s the excuse we were given for importing so many illegals.

You didn’t get the text that math is racist?

Besides, 2 + 2 = 5 in Common Core math.

I’m skeptical of his concern for the American worker, Jeb is after all a big proponent of importing as much labor competition via mass immigration as possible.

“Skills aren’t the problem; literacy, arithmetic and intoxicants are.”

Along with criminal backgrounds, according to a friend of ours who works in HR for a large local employer.
