State prosecutors in Manhattan investigating former President Donald J. Trump and the Trump Organization have subpoenaed the personal bank records of the company’s chief financial officer and are questioning gifts he and his family received from Mr. Trump, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
In recent weeks, the prosecutors have trained their focus on the executive, Allen H. Weisselberg, in what appears to be a determined effort to gain his cooperation. Mr. Weisselberg, who has not been accused of wrongdoing, has overseen the Trump Organization’s finances for decades and may hold the key to any possible criminal case in New York against the former president and his family business.

Sounds like that made this story up.
It looks like Donald Trump is as clean as a whistle and the lefty commies cannot come to grips with reality: Donald J. Trump is a good and honorable human being.
End of story.
Exactly Donald never would have run if he did anything wrong they know it and he knows it too
So after years of investigation and the tax records and they still got nothing and are doing a hail mary attempting to get the CFO to rat out Trump cause they got nothing.
Exactly Donald never would have run if he did anything wrong they know it and he knows it too
Exactly this is selective prosecution which last I checked was illegal
The Weissman Strategy. Find a lower level innocent, comb through everything, find some barely questionable decisions, squeeze him until he agrees to make up lies.
Yup.

Nothing new.
Just wait until 2024 ramps up.
I really really really really do not care about Trump’s finances.
If anything should be investigated it is the NYC crooked real estate laws.
A couple of weeks ago some propaganda media outlet ran a story about this guy Weisselberg and suggested that he had a treasure trove of incriminating information about the operations of the Trump Organization. The scenario they presented was that Weisselberg and/or a family member had been permitted to live in a Trump-owned luxury condo in NYC while he was working for the Trump Organization, and that Trump was potentially subject to prosecution for evading Federal gift taxes that would be owed on the deal.
I’m not even a CPA or a tax attorney, and yet I recognized a huge hole in that storyline: The gift tax would not apply because the condo was never GIVEN to the guy; Trump or the Trump Organization retained ownership of the property for the entire time Weisselberg lived there.
And it gets better ... because the tax reporting obligation in this scenario would be on WEISSELBERG, not Trump. LOL.
