Bottom line unlike older vaccines where they inject dead or live virus into your body, the mRNA inject the genetic code of the virus.
This is a major breakthrough, when you think about it.
It means that you can program the protein, genetic code, that is causing the virus, a disease or even cancer, and trigger an immune response by the body.
How effective is it.
Well, I had a patient last week, who against all advice, traveled from Florida to a funeral in New Jersey.
SHe was exposed to the virus where she stayed. Her host, tested positive for the virus on the third day she was there.
She hustled back to Florida, but later in the day she arrived she developed symptoms of the COVID virus, and the next day tested positive on an antigen test.
She was careful NOT to be in the same room with her mother, aged 70, or her husband. She wore her masked almost all waking hours in the house.
The only contact she had was with the house cat. BUT THE HOUSE CAT WAS FREE TO ROAM AROUND THE HOUSE.
By day three at home, her mother developed symptoms, and tested positive for the virus.
But her husband, who had received the FIRST PFIZER dose ten days earlier NEVER TESTED positive, or had symptoms.
After two weeks, she is still symnptomatic. Can’t taste or smell, fever and cough. But getting better.
Summary, looks like the cat was the vector, and looks like her husband had some immunity from the first vaccine.
I’ve come full circle on the vaccine. This is a major medical breakthrough, that will improve the health of all mankind.
Sure, they need to be perfected, but the science now is more specific to the virus. Instead of injecting dead viruses or attenuated viruses or even live viruses, we are injecting only the genetic makeup of the virus. The body in turn developes the SPECIFIC antibody.
