Stopped at a Mobil station the other day. There was a Sheriff car sitting at a pump. Then I saw this 5’ 9” guy that was 250-300 lbs of pure blubber walk out of the store wearing a sidearm walk over and plunk his fat ass down in the car. There’s no way in hell this guy could even jog, let alone run.
Everywhere I go, it seems everyone’s overweight and a lot are downright obese. It doesn’t seem to bother people to turn into lard asses these days.
A lot of talk about how ‘global warming’ is a national security issue. I think that’s ludicrous. However, there’s no talk about how obesity is a national security issue, probably because that would be ‘cruel, hate’ speech and body-shaming.
But, it’s clear it’s a problem both in terms of national security (military unpreparedness) and a detriment to effective policing.
You may remember that escapee from the ATL jail who ended up beating his escort half to death, stealing her gun and going on a four-day killing spree about a decade or so ago. That sheriff who was escorting him - alone - was a woman, under 5’5” and over 200 lbs.
But, she was a minority, a female and therefore, an invaluable member of law enforcement....and a half-dozen or so people are now dead because of it.
