Ditto! Yes, they purposely time stuff. I was with one woman that had 4 kids, and pregnant again. I questioned this. She said that she would get knocked up as much as necessary to keep from being deployed! This was in response to going on rotation at the NTC in Ft Irwin, Ca.
Plopping kids kept her pay and comfort. At our expense. Sickening.
IIRC It is/was common for a woman that wanted off a ship to get pregnant . Got as high as 10% attrition.
And Tucker was mainly dumping (rightfully) on pregnant fighter pilots.
The idea is beyond insane.
