My 88 yo mother got vacinated on Saturday. She has been sick and feels awful ever since.
That’s terrible.
My mom is 88 too and based on this alone I would not advise her to get the vaccine.
I'm sorry to hear that. I'm 73, and have underlying health issues, but I'm not getting the damn vaccine. There was only one person in my family who made it to 74. That was my oldest sister. The rest died at 73, 69, and 51. Three of them died of lung cancer. One from a stroke. My brother, of a massive heart attack at 51.I get the flu shot every year and have no reaction. I've gotten the Shingrix injections, and had no reaction. But now since the flu has miraculously disappeared, I may not even get next year's flu shot. I worked in NY State Corrections for 25 years, dealing with all sorts of people, handled all sorts of shared items from keys to radios, weapons to phones, and computers. Door handles, door knobs, inmate property, whatever you can think of, and not once did I ever ever get sick with anything. Not the flu, scabies, TB, HIV, colds, viruses, nothing. If I survived all of that without being scathed, I'm willing to take the chance that I'll die of something else besides the virus when my time is up. Personally, I don't know anyone who has had the virus. My oldest son who lives 2 hours away, thought he had it twice, but tested negative both times...but then he'd think he had the virus if he farted the wrong way.
Sorry but she was a fool for taking the Covid vax, and shame on you for not educating her and protecting her.
