Mike Krzyzewski sounds off on 'insurrection' at Capitol: 'They need to be prosecuted'
yahoo ^ | January 9, 2021 | JACK BAER

Posted on 01/11/2021 8:28:08 AM PST by MarvinStinson

The sight of supporters of President Trump storming the US Capitol have sparked horror and outrage across the sports world, but hit especially hard for a West Point graduate watching from home.

Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski launched into an extended tirade about the riot at the Capitol.

Alternating between saddened, perplexed and outraged, he discussed Wednesday’s events, the COVID-19 pandemic and current political situation:

The sorriest day — I’m 73 years old — outside of 9/11, shootings at schools where kids have gotten shot and killed. And by the way, I know everyone went under desks and that at the Capitol. I’d like to ask how many times have teachers had to do that at school when there’s gun violence?

It was an insurrection. It went to the very fabric of this great country; the symbol for our democracy is that Capitol, and we allowed that symbol to be really just spit on and stepped on.

My prayers go out to the officer’s family who was killed from the Capitol police, just like my prayers go out to the 16,000 families that have lost loved ones in this last week. Are you kidding me? There’s 16,000. What the hell are we doing? Where we can’t work as a country to come together and get these vaccines out, makes sure that we’re coming together. And if someone’s doing something bad, Congress has the responsibility of stepping forward.

Krzyzewski urged for the country to move past partisanship:

Everyone who was involved, they should be prosecuted. And our leaders, our politicians who spoke up in support of that, should be chastised. This is not about being a Republican or a Democrat, it’s about being a damn American. Our country needs to be a team again.

Try to find out how Coach K’s athletes got into Duke with their academic record or what courses they took or where they took them other than Duke? This information is not available.

Law enforcement waved people into the Capitol.
Law enforcement helpfully moved barriers aside to ease the way.
The protesters walked between the velvet ropes as they moved through the government building.

A government employee shot and killed a woman.
Some bad actors (possibly ANTIFA) did a few thousand dollars in damage.

This sparked horror and outrage only because the media wanted that outcome.

Why on Earth would I -- or just about everybody for that matter -- give a rat's @ss what a mere basketball coach thinks about politics ... for that matter, what a mere basketball coash thinks about anything (except maybe ... maybe ... college basketball.

Better check yourself on this Mike. Healthcare workers are refusing the vaccine in huge numbers.

No, Trump Isn’t Guilty of Incitement! By Jeffrey Scott Shapiro
Jan. 10, 2021 1:39 pm ET
Inflaming emotions isn’t a crime. The president didn’t mention violence, much less provoke it.

House Democrats have drafted an article of impeachment that accuses President Trump of “incitement to insurrection.” Acting U.S. Attorney Michael Sherwin said Thursday that his office is “looking at all actors here and anyone that had a role” in the Capitol riot. Some reporters have construed that as including Mr. Trump.

The president didn’t commit incitement or any other crime. I should know. As a Washington prosecutor I earned the nickname “protester prosecutor” from the antiwar group CodePink. In one trial, I convicted 31 protesters who disrupted congressional traffic by obstructing the Capitol Crypt.

In another, I convicted a CodePink activist who smeared her hands with fake blood, charged at then-Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in a House hearing room, and incited the audience to seize the secretary of state physically. In other cases, I dropped charges when the facts fell short of the legal standard for incitement. One such defendant was the antiwar activist Cindy Sheehan.

“It was an insurrection”

Pretty good coach, but obviously an uninformed dumb-ass. “Insurrection” is what the Left is doing right now. It is impossible to mount an insurrection by pushing your way into the Capitol building largely unarmed. To be sticklers for language, the Left sure does play loose with the King’s English.

“16,000 families that have lost loved ones in this last week”

Not sure about his numbers. But with all the co-morbidities and the average age of reported Covid death, presumably many of these would have died regardless, either the same week or very soon. In any event, about 8,000 Americans die each day, so about 56,000 Americans per week. A Vietnam every week (but not really, if you account for age and years lost).

Looks like a zombie in need of a bullet, LOL.

But really?

Captain Obvious sounds off on ‘4 year insurrection of Democrats’ at Capitol: ‘They need to be indicted.’

See how easy that is to do?

Right on, right on, right on, Mike.

The BLM riots that have been going on for a year burning and destroying cities, looting, tearing down statues, setting up un-American zones - that’s ok!

A few Q supporters knock over a few papers and a damage a plant stand and that’s the first straw!

More from the same Yahoo article:

Krzyzewski, who rose to the rank of captain in the Army, isn’t the only former member of the military in sports to publicly denounce the riot, as San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, an Air Force veteran, went even further by attacking Trump’s character and speculating that the president enjoyed watching the scene.
