As has been the practice, they blame Trump for not doing what someone else should have. Trump cannot order the national guard into a state or territory. It must be requested by the governor, or in this case, the mayor who acts as the governor, Muriel Bowser. A president cannot order the national guard into anything without the determination of insurrection. This was a case of breaking and entering. No one was harmed by the effort and the damage done was minimal in comparison to the actions in the states like Seattle, Portland, or a lot of places. And Trump didn’t send them in there either.
