Outgoing Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Friday circulated to colleagues a memo outlining the procedure for holding another trial for President Trump if the House impeaches him for a second time in just over a year.
The document, which was first reported by The Washington Post, lays out how the Senate would proceed if the House approves articles of impeachment and transmits them to the upper chamber before or by Jan. 19, when senators are scheduled to resume regular business after the January recess.

True, but honest people know that was a sham impeachment. It was purely a political act that was promised even before he was inaugurated. This 2nd impeachment was also obviously designed to tar him with being the only President to be impeached twice. Also an attempt to prevent him from running again. Bottom line is that the Senate trial will not happen, assuming President Trump leaves office January 20th - not nearly enough time.
Ironically, the House impeachment is a show trial that the Trump lawyers are itching for - as it would allow them to publicly make the case that the 2020 election was stolen.
Remember - they are impeaching him for inciting an insurrection by publicly
making false claims of election fraud. The President’s defense will be to prove that the claims of election fraud were not false. The Democrats will have to prove there was no fraud.
I predict that they will make a lot of noise of impeachment - but stop short of actually holding official hearings.

But it sets a narrative. A narrative that's picked up and echoed by everyone who controls the overwhelming vast majority of speech and information in this country (print media, TV media, social media, education at every level, national news, local news and on and on).
Those narratives, their lies/distortions/shams, start to become a reality with those with weaker convictions. Namely, the perpetual fence sitters out there as well as the liberal (R)'s.
Ultimately, that narrative has a negative effect on "our" side.
If they disenfranchise Presided Trump they are through.
There should be absolutely no question that they’re through. Save as all handful in the House not one of them deserves anything from the people.
One of the things sliding under the radar here is the group of legislators that are more responsible for this mess than anyone else.
That would be the state legislators from Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin Michigan, Nevada and Arizona. All controlled by Republicans. All rolled over to the Left hoping someone else would do something.
When each of these scumbags runs for re-election only a few questions needs to be asked.....what did you do to prevent the election from being stolen from the President and the 74,000,000, I think it was closer to 100,000,000, people that voted for him? Did you exercise your authority as a legislator and nullify any dirty deals, last minute rule changes, disallow corrupted voting machines, negate any illegal consent decrees signed by so someone that didn’t have the authority to sign one and hid it from the public?
If they can’t answer any of the following in the affirmative and and demonstrably show what they’ve done they do not deserve your vote.

No they can't. For Congress to try a private citizen, which is what Trump will be when he leaves office, would be a bill of attainder. That is explicitly forbidden by the constitution.
Unfortunately, if McConnell does NOT go forward with this there also may be a bad result for GOP seats in 2022.
They want him disgraced and jailed so he can never be a political threat to them again. I suspect they will move to have his secret service detail removed and any presidential library, they want to remove him from history, period.
But, but Judges, he got us Judges, leave him alone and "Stand By" for....well something surely from 2.0, right? He promised.
