I knew him and worked with him. There is no conspiracy here. It is just really sad.
So he really did commit suicide?
He sounds like he was one of the good guys. It is really sad.
Don’t know you, so you’ll understand there will be skepticism on this site. The chances of happening to have a coworker here would be small, but a person assigned to cover tracks for a political killing on a popular political website would be similarly sized.
If you are LE, props on your service, but don’t think things are as you have been taught. I’ve seen it firsthand, and it is not. If you want to begin to see the degree to which LE is under surveillance from an, at times, hostile intelligence operation targeting it, watch and see if on your drives you hit intersections, and very often see cars hit them at the same time, or pedestrians/landscapers/bicyclists loitering or just passing there, able to call your decision to the control center handling your follow. Particularly if you don’t see a similar traffic profile on the long straightaways without decision points in between intersections. If activity is always at the intersection, but not in between, you have someone watching you. And if they are hiding, it probably isn’t a good thing.
All of you are being watched, just like many of us, and a decent degree of paranoia and surveillance awareness is a good thing for cops these days.
