President-elect Joe Biden says he will ask Americans to wear their face masks for 100 days after he takes office in January.
Biden told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Thursday that he hopes the mandate would help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in the U.S.
“On the first day I’m inaugurated, I’m going to ask the public for 100 days to mask. Just 100 days to mask, not forever, just 100 days,” Biden said. “I think we’ll see a significant reduction.”
Biden previously said wearing a mask is a “patriotic duty” and that it shouldn’t be politicized.
Biden has acknowledged he doesn’t have complete power to enforce a nationwide mask mandate, and that he would need help from state and local officials to help enforce the rule.

Many have been wearing masks since March. Things started to look good in June. Suddenly, just as the BLM demonstrations started up after George Floyd died on May 25th, so did the increase in cases, which started June 14. Because of those demonstrations, the China virus was reseeded into the population. America had 1,728,125 cases on May 25th. Since then, America has had 12,588,495 total cases. When the smoke from the fires and the teargas filled the air, people were coughing, noses were dripping and eyes were watering. The virus was floating on an ocean of human juices.

That was my thought as well. MAY is far off. They clearly expect us to be in Covid another six months if not longer. I wish Trump had been better on messaging and hadn’t pulled the task force off the forefront.
I try shopping in Georgia and every stores has a posted masks “mandatory” or “required” signs but they are FULL of people not wearing masks and no one enforcing. Target is still offering complimentary paper masks. Walmart doesn’t appear to be policing. Kroger isn’t giving masks and I didn’t see anyone checking customers at Publix. I did hear a fight at a store because one customer tried to point out the masks required sign to another customer and the police were called. We cannot do this forever.
Gov Kemp has never given local areas authority to have stricter guidelines than the state and the state is pretty much wide open. Businesses feel they have no authority to enforce the requirement and direct their employees not to even interact about wearing masks.
Someone should make custom variants of that Amazon mask...just insert the name of your favorite politician, and the office he/she holds. For example; ‘F*** Graham...not my Senator’...Nashville residents could wear ‘F*** Cooper, not my Mayor’, and so forth. Business opportunity. :-)

The “100 Days” thing is a common thing for all presidents to strive for. Biden: “So, you know, ah - in my first 100 weeks, um - days, I asked people to wear a, ah, a mask.”
