you firsttry to work thorugh the processes

but theres more than one level of dealong with this

plus getting organized as more and more evidence comes in is a big task, getting everything in its right place

there’s ultimately going to be one or several scutos cases being brought, and some of the reasons for doing so is the way the states have mishandled their roles in this, before, during and after the elections

and this will vecome evidence to be presented as well

“The last thing they want to do is pick the next President”

You really think the Supreme Court wants to let Communist China steal this election and enslave us? Do you have any conception that the very existence of the United States of America is on the line?

If the Supreme Court does not rectify this then we are finished. The Marxist will take over the USA and enslave us all. There will never again be an honest election. The Rats will pack the court, open the floodgates to illegals, make Washington DC, Guam, Peurto Rico and US Virgin Islands new states with 8 more commie senators.

And finally disarm us so we can be led to the gas chamber. This is what Ocasio Cortez, Keith Olberman and Jenifer Rubin have told us they are going to do.

We fight right here and now or we die!!!!!!!!!

This order of the Supreme Court means only that if a case arises from a particular judicial circuit, then the justice so assigned shall receive it first. A judicial circuit in this context encompasses the circuit court of appeals, the federal district courts, bankruptcy courts, state courts, and other tribunals from which the Supreme Court may hear appeals. I am not sure of the pertinence in original-jurisdiction cases. For this order to have relevance, someone must bring a lawsuit to a lower court, which then must rule on that lawsuit; a party to the lawsuit then can appeal to the Supreme Court, at which time the named justice will conduct an initial review of the case and refer it to the full court. The named justice in some cases upon request can issue an emergency order or stay while seeking the input of the other justices.

Our Twitter commentator apparently thinks that if an election-related lawsuit reaches the Supreme Court, then it will find a relatively slightly more favorable audience with the assigned justice. This favorable treatment may result in a marginally greater chance of the Supreme Court accepting such an appeal. It perhaps may increase the chances marginally of a temporary emergency stay, but the justice for the circuit probably will not act without the concurrence of other justices on the court in a dramatic political case.

politico currently (nov. 20) has

https://www.politico.com/2020-election/results/president/

biden 306
trump 232

according to this, trump would need 270 - 232 = 38 electoral votes to flip

IOW, any 3 of the “big 4” contested states WI, MI, PA, and GA under consideration with the constraints of being under an allegedly “trump friendly” justice.

under these circumstances,

NV 7
AZ 11

might be the locations of strategic but diversionary court filings contesting those results.

i believe rudy stated at yesterday’s briefing that 3 official trump lawsuits have already been filed. i wonder what the current legal trump lawsuit filing status is for each of the big 4 or big 6 contested states.

Yeah... anyone know who picks these areas out???

Roberts assigns. This was done to rebalance after the death of RGB and confirmation of ACB, not for the election.

Sotomayor was given RBG's prestigious 2nd Circuit, which includes NY, and the snake pit that is SDNY. She gave up her previous assignment of the 6th.

Then, they reshuffled a few circuits to allow ACB an assignment. The rest of the moves were among Conservative Justices, so the only D to R move was the 6th Circuit, which includes MI.

As I explained on the other thread, people are reading too much into this. Reassignment was bound to happen soon after ACB was put on the Court. IOW, timing is likely a coincidence.

Also, it is pretty common when significant cases are involved for the justice to refer the matter to the full Court. This is common practice because if a justice denies it, the court’s rules allow petitioner to move on to other justices, and if a justice grants a stay, the loser can ask the full Court to vacate that stay. Since this would waste lots of time and create undue tension among the justices (no one wants to technically overrule his colleague), it makes sense to treat major cases a bit differently and have the full the Court consider the application.

Bottom line: Don’t take this as a sign that the Court is itching to get involved in the election. And in the end, we still need either Kavanaugh or Roberts to be “solid” in order to win, because it’s unlikely that the four more conservative justices will just go off and do their own thing with requests that come from their circuits. At most, they may grant temporary stays until the full court considers or request a response from the other party or something of that nature. They aren’t going to do much on their own.

i am under the uninformed impression that the USSC has both reach down and reach up emergency procedures for time urgent cases. (someone somewhere surely can confirm or deny...)

That, I do not know. The most I can say is that this is a standing law that has been on the books for some time now.

I thought Arizona and Georgia’s certifications were a done deal

Kathleen Harris--the Florida SOS during the Florida recount in 2000--certified the votes making Bush the winner of Florida... however, the Florida Supreme Court overturned the certification... nothing is a done deal until it is...
