Four first-term City Council members in Philadelphia vowed Friday to continue pushing for cuts to the city police departments budget during a week that saw more than 200 stores looted in reaction to the Monday police-shooting death of Walter Wallace Jr.
The four councilmembers Kendra Brooks, Jamie Gauthier, Katherine Gilmore Richardson and Isaiah Thomas pledged their support for police cuts and other changes during an online call with local political activists, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
The same group had pushed for significant cuts in June but were unsuccessful, the newspaper reported.

I read earlier that the family wanted an ambulance to come. Would medics on an ambulance approach a crazy person waving a knife around? This family is nuts. Pun intended.
Because Philly does not currently fund the police fully, the responding officers did not have tasers that could have been used against the knife-wielding lunatic.
So, the officers only had their pistols as defense, thanks to defunding already.
Democrats create these situations and then use the consequences to call for more Democratic ideas.
