Don’t know the reasoning behind picking Tuesday as the voting day. Keep
in mind back in the day people were close to home and weren’t traveling
that much.
It was men only as females didn’t get the right to vote until August 18, 1920

It being the first Tuesday following the first Monday in
November as Election Day.
