Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker on Monday warned that "there seems to be a COVID storm coming" and urged residents to be prepared as the state's metrics continue rising.
"No matter where in Illinois you call home: as you go about your daily life, remember that this is not over," Pritzker said as he delivered his daily coronavirus press briefing.
The governor warned that six of the state's 11 healthcare regions will be under stricter mitigations this week, but more could soon follow.

Storm coming, is his family in Wisconsin or Florida waiting it out. Unfortunately lots of Illinoisans are following their lead.
Of course, not knowing the details of why the magic line positivity is 9% or 8%, I am just venting here. But the more tents I see outside of restaurants in northern Illinois so they can stay open during the Pritzker Lockdown, the more it appears that the state's private sector will disappear for at least 4 months, probably more. And in the spring when it's reasonable to expect that people will be willing to sit outside to eat at a restaurant, there won't be many restaurants left. Just Pritzker Soup Kitchens.

Every region has to go through a big spike.
If your region did not go through this spike it will, eventually.
Poor New Zealand doesn’t seem to understand this and will lockdown forever. Once they allow anyone in, and eventually they will, they will get their spike. Count on it.
Once you go through the spike the pandemic in your region is largely done.
I'd give a nod to hospitalizations. That said, there's a big variance in level of "hospitalization" (day of bed rest to intubation and coma management)
Remember, Illinois is one of those states that barely “opened up”, and has been under especially severe restrictions ever since this started. And yet they are doing horribly.
Meanwhile, Virginia was a lot less locked down, and opened up more completely, and if the country had the same statistics as Virginia, only 100,000 would be dead.
Don’t guess Prickster reads his own IDPH site - they show 595 COVID Patients occupying 3,789 staffed ICU Beds and 241 COVID Patients on ventilators of 5,763 staffed ventilator - - - - seems like we are doing fairly well in this storm - - - BTW Prickster is well known for his lying(see his fair tax proposal) Head of IDPH managed to squeeze some fake tears at a recent press conference to make the STORM seem all the more real......Note the charts at the bottom of the page.
