President Trump said that his opponent Joe Biden will “do fine” at Tuesday’s presidential debate because his team will give him a “shot of something” before he comes on stage.
“Biden will do fine," Trump told supporters at a rally in Jacksonville, Fla. "He's been doing it for 47 years. They'll give him a big shot of something before he has to go out there, he'll be full of energy. He'll be fine."
He then turned to hit his opponent for failing to campaign just five weeks before the election. “He did a lid again this morning, I’m working my a-- off,” Trump said. “He does a lid all the time.”
The Biden campaign, who unlike Trump has not hosted any large-scale rallies due to the coronavirus pandemic, said this morning it would not be hosting any public events on Thursday.

Smart because expectations are so low and what Biden has done for over 40 years is memorize pat answers and spit them out and so Biden will do ok during debates AND it is the spin after that swings votes. We need to stop setting expectations so low. Set them high
Most thought Nixon had won debate on radio (most listened to radio) but they said Kennedy did on TV so he was perceived as winning the debate and it arguable swung votes-some people just like to vote for the winner
Trump trying to not come across as being a bully, even though the MSM will continue to say that Trump is a bully, anyways, no matter what Trump does or doesn’t do, with anything.
It’s really negligent that the Trump team agreed that the topics can be announced in advance. This makes it easy for Biden to be programmed.
Yeah, now that he knows the subjects that’s why the lid’s on - drill and drill several talking points about each subject for the the next few days, then when he gets stuck he’ll laugh inappropriately and launch into an unrelated anecdote for distraction.
And the press will swoon, of course.
Although there’s a risk of putting dementia patients under more mental stress than usual. This would be a bit like putting my late mother with dementia in the basement for a week and telling her she can’t come out until she learns Calculus.
It means he has no events or appearances scheduled and will not be doing any interviews for that day. Because he just scored a lid and will be in Jill’s basement all day.

In the Education field LID stands for Learning Improvement Day. It’s a day where teachers go to school and meet with other teachers or go to work-related trainings out of town. Students have the day off. So, technically, the teachers are working, but not teaching.
In Biden’s case, he’s supposedly working, but not campaigning, which is what he should be doing.
I don't think he's up to matching up the questions to his memorized answers.
Joe Biden is doing debate prep today. Understandable. Biden is a seasoned debater.
But what was his excuse on 9/1, 9/5, 9/6, 9/8, 9/10, 9/12, 9/19, and 9/22, all days he called a “lid” before noon?
All Trump has to do is remark on the shady dealings of Joe’s boy Hunter. Joe will lose it, or very abruptly try to change the topic, loudly, frantically repeating a talking point, over and over.

ByeDen has a very short fuse and would be easily short-circuited and possibly made to completely lose it by using the above.
But he needs to "reveal" something new, like the IRS is investigating his tax returns for not including income or something.
