WASHINGTON (AP) — House Democrats on Wednesday proposed a sweeping bill to curb presidential abuses,
a pitch to voters weeks ahead of Election Day as they try to defeat President Donald Trump,
capture the Senate from Republicans and keep their House majority.

The legislation, a wide-ranging package of new and revised bills, would limit the president’s pardon power,
strengthen laws to ban presidents from receiving gifts or payments from foreign governments,
better protect independent agency watchdogs and whistleblowers from firing or retribution and require better reporting by campaigns of foreign election interference.

I think there should be a sweeping bill to curb congressional abuse. I also think that someone should take Nancy’s broom and sweep her into the gutter along with the other filth.

Would they prevent foreign countries like China from buying up huge quantities of a President's books to funnel royalties into his pockets?

Because that is exactly what happened with Obama, and the Democrats seemed remarkably uninterested in that. As a matter of fact, our own State Department spent hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to buy the President's books to give as gifts, and he collected those royalties too.

Again, a complete lack of concern about corruption.

Requires a Constitutional Amendment. Dead in the water.

Meh...maybe.

Limit the president’s pardon power? That would take a Constitutional amendment.

Limiting the President's Pardon Power?

That's as unconstitutional as the "censure plus" (literal bill of attainder) they talked about passing about Clinton during the Lewinsky scandal.

They should all be prosecuted for sedition /treason (knowingly trying to undermine the Constitution).

Poor things! They’re panic stricken! Trump keeps winning! After the re-election, he’s going to expose the TRUTH about their evil, criminal shenanigans, and long prison sentences loom over the horizon! He might have to renovate Alcatraz.

Wow! Curbing Presidential Abuses?

Does that work retro-actively?

If that passes can it be applied to all of Obama's degrees and Executive Orders too?

Obama loved to boast "I have a PEN and PHONE" and "Election Have Consequences!"

" House Democrats on Wednesday proposed a sweeping bill to curb presidential abuses, a pitch to voters weeks ahead of Election Day as they try to defeat President Donald Trump, capture the Senate from Republicans and keep their House majority." Are they using ex-president Obama's abuses for 8 years to make their list?

As far as clear thinking Americans are concerned, the only ones abusing their positions of POWER are all the Democrats!

See the Democrats as State Governors, Mayors etc who are deliberately destroying businesses and jobs while skirting their own rules at their own convenience for themselves and friends.

Dont even get me started on Gov Coumo who single handedly killed 4X more Americans than the 911 Radical Muslim Terrorists, by ordering Covid infected patients into Elderly nursing homes.

In that 1 move, he eliminated 12,000 conservative voters and harvested Death Taxes for his state coffers. I'm still horrified how Democrats are so in love over Death & Taxes!

Why do Democrats love killing Americans?

I think there should be a sweeping bill to curb congressional abuse.

These happen occasionally with a lot of fanfare, like the limitation on insider trading by Congressional members and staffers. Then quietly, usually as a rider to a popular piece of legislation, the restrictions are quietly rolled back.
