Sorry this person who was a close friend of Justice Scalia has past. RIP.

That being said it’s a good day for America. Another Marxist has been removed from the Supreme Court. Let’s hope Trump can do better than Bush did with Roberts.

I doubt McConnell will take up confirmation hearings until early ‘21.

Unfortunately; you are correct. The "bad optics" of replacing RBG so soon after her death right before the election will frighten the spineless senate republicans into submission.

We all know full well, it would be full steam ahead if the democrats had the white house and the senate. That is the key difference between the parties in DC.

The dems don't care about the optics, because they have the backing of the media to spin everything in their favor and the sheeple who take their cues from the media will simply accept the narrative presented to them.

McConnell just lost three GOP votes. That puts it at 50-50. One more defection is all that is needed qnd among those GOP senators in a tight election fight at least one more defection is inevitable.

Fate doesn’t often give us a chance to crush our enemies with one fell swoop. This is a once in a 100 year event. We have to seize the day, win the game. We have to be bold. No more BS. Go for the jugular.

Seems more likely to lose a GOP senator an election, than win it for them.

Not voting for a Trump nomination would be suicidal for a Republican.

Historically senators are cowards. They take few chances. They like the staus quo. I believe there are at least 5 who will not support confirmation. One of them will be Lindsay Graham.

This is September. Won’t be nominated before late January. Then a bigger deal out of this than even the usual, so an even longer than usual approval process.

The President has already said he'll nominate someone within the next few days and McConnell says the nominee will get a vote on the Senate floor. But I'm not too sure McConnell can deliver that because there might be enough RINOs to hold up the vote.

Right. Corrected soon after early in this thread, when the WH so announced. Good and important news, though a question re: McConnell. Or how much they will have to compromise to keep enough of the worst RINO Swampers on board.

Graham is in real trouble with Independents in South Carolina. The don't think he's honest and cares about people. They align with Republican issues and want a Republican Senate, but are breaking towards voting for the Democrat despite that.

Graham may need to support this nomination to restore voter confidence in him before the election.

60 million dead babies to her credit.

That needed saying. A tragedy and shameful thing we must never forget.

sorry for feeling of elation....

You need not be sorry for honest feelings.

I never posted anything wishing her harm at any time but I know that her policy actions directly contributed to the abortion murder deaths of roughly 60 million innocent babies. She made her firm choice about that.

The Talmud discussion on Ecclesiastes includes:
Those who are kind to the cruel will
in the end be cruel to the kind.
