Powell Jobs* owns a 70% stake in The Atlantic, and she reportedly communicates often with its editor-in-chief, Jeffrey Goldberg.
Goldberg published an anonymously-sourced story Thursday alleging that President Donald Trump had denigrated fallen American soldiers.

It is a tree-falls-in-the-forest scenario. No one sees the debunking because MSM including the Atlantic will simply double down on the lie. All 90% hear is the lie.
I believe this particular lie is part of the effort to induce the generals, who have already in essence mutinied, to stage a real coup in January if Trump does not win overwhelmingly in both popular and electoral votes.
If the generals continue in their present course we have already passed into the status of third world politics.
