How will Aunt Betty the Poll Worker have any idea if I’ve voted by mail? At my polling place, they’ve only ever been using paper lists and rulers to mark people off. How is this supposed to be monitored...or is that the whole point?

Ummm... They will look at “the list” to see if your name is checked off. They most likely look up your name anyway to see if you are registered.

They do know if you’ve been sent a mail in ballot. They don’t know if you’ve mailed it back (I think).

If you were sent a mail in ballot and show up at a precinct to vote without it in hand (can turn it in), you can only vote provisionally.

Either way, in CA both provisional and mail in ballots are tossed if from a Republican. Only in person voting counts from Republicans. The rest are found floating in boxes in the SF Bay (true story).
