The irony is if Lincoln were brought to the present day in a time machine, he would have more “racist” opinions than anyone in either party. But this is what Dems do - they lionize someone from the past who is no longer a threat because they’re dead) to bash someone in the present who IS a threat.

Then they turn around and bash the past for being “racist” when it’s convenient for some other purpose. Two-faced, double standards as usual.

Absolutely true— seeing as how, before he determined he wanted to run for President (with the BIG railroad owners, since he was a major railroad attorney in the day)-— was a Whig. An active Whig Party activist. Then with the Radicals, he decided they were his ticket.

Nothing wrong with the calculation, but it is a fact. Secretary of War Stanton was a Democrat (rather pertinent in regards to Lincoln’s assassination investigation, and Stanton’s actions withholding evidence- retaining Boothe’s diary until his death. Never revealed or given to the Military Tribunal as evidence and, when revealed at probate of Stanton’s will, the book was missing many pages in the middle of the writings— torn out. Look at the lunatic sayings of Pelosi-— a Radical Democrat (who in the day would have been said former Whigs, and republicans). Deep State existed then.... very large in the Pinkertons Stanton ran (as a grand vizier to Lincoln).
