The woke Seattle City Council is poised to fire officers of color and cut the black police chief’s salary to ensure she gets paid less than her white predecessor. How’s that for social justice?
Monday’s vote is likely to pass, despite the council’s best efforts to claim they’ll fight for people of color. If those people of color are cops, however, the council deems them unworthy of protection.
...The council makes this move knowing that newly hired, less experienced officers will be let go first. In the last year or so, the department has been focused on hiring more people of color to better represent different communities. Consequently, the council will force the department to fire minority officers.
Realizing this is a bad look, white Councilmember Lisa Herbold suggests the Seattle Police Department seek permission to exclusively fire white officers. This is, of course, illegal discrimination and flatly racist. It also makes little sense to fire officers who have more experience......

It’s strange times in New York City. COVID — and confused government policies — has commercial buildings desolate in Manhattan. Few are returning to work in their offices despite politicians proclaiming otherwise. Restaurants can open for food but not for drinks. Gatherings are forbidden — unless it is to protest. Crime is through the roof, months after elected officials allowed looting and forced police to turn a blind eye.
Nazi’s didn’t want to kill everyone either, just the ones they didn’t want.

cases. Officers will not be enforcing the laws. Anarchy

I’m guessing some of the city’s business owners are suffering some serious 20-20 hindsight right now.
Maybe they can take the insurance money for their burned out businesses and move to a red state, start up again and vote in lefty loons to start the process of devolution all over again.
I seriously doubt that many, if any, of these people who are taking up the rear financially there are getting religion and going conservative. Progressives have absolutely no idea of the concept of cause and effect or the immutable law of unintended consequences.
