Having grown up in the middle class suburbs of Boston my first real exposure to Southerners was Army BCT in '69.Most of the guys in my company were from Tennessee,Mississippi and Texas.It was the first time I had ever seen someone chewing tobacco...my first experience with grits.

It was a whole new world for me.

A couple of the guys from Texas tried to convince me that their first "experience" was with livestock.I hope they were just pulling my leg...but I've never been absolutely certain. :-)
