The health officer of Montgomery County, Maryland, ordered nonpublic schools, including “private pay schools” and “schools affiliated with religious institutions,” to remain closed for in-school instruction through October 1.
“Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have based our decisions on science and data,” said Dr. Travis Gayles in a press statement Friday, and he added: At this point the data does not suggest that in-person instruction is safe for students or teachers. We have seen increases in transmission rates for COVID-19 in the State of Maryland, the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Virginia, particularly in younger age groups, and this step is necessary to protect the health and safety of Montgomery County residents.

Hogan will overturn it based on recommendations from State health officials (my health official can beat up your health official kinda thing). The majority of folks in (liberal) Montgomery County are furious about this.
Unfortunately MC is controlled by its Teacher’s Union - but even they can’t fight with a wealthy liberal mother who needs to get her little social justice warrior back to school. The conservative and religious schools will happily go along for the ride.
ReOpen Maryland has filed Freedom of Information forms to get the minutes of the Maryland COVID task force. Hogan has refused. He says they are a private group and not subject to transparency
I wonder if Montgomery County teachers, will take the same position as LA teachers, who said they won’t return to work until we defund police, and do other things which have nothing to do with the virus.
Who is paying the people on the COVID 19 Task Force? Make them prove that they are not receiving any taxpayer money.
Since they are a private group, why is the governor listening to them and not your private group?
FOIA the heck out of them, if for no other reason, the governor is involved.
Because of course that’s where COVID is generated.
I believe that is part of the Federal lawsuit against Hogan.

Why don’t they open all schools and let parents decide to send children OR provide education at home. Seems simple to me.
Barron Trump attends a private school in Montgomery County. Probably why they are doing this.
We're all dealing with the "ELECTION INFECTION"... all of which is designed to make people question Trump's leadership.
It won't work and right after the Nov Presidential election you'll hear little or nothing about the virus from the MSM.
