What folks fail to realize is that the the “god” (little “g”) in charge of this present evil world is not the God of creation.
“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them” (2 Corinthians 4:3-4).
Why can’t they see this? The answer is in the verse . . . their minds are darkened and the lost are blind to the truth. That is why so many sports figures and politicians can pledge allegiance to a “god.” It just isn’t the right one.
