Arguably, they are quite competent and we underestimate them at our peril.
Their primary assignment in this instance was to build a basis for impeaching Barr, and secondarily to influence voters in the next presidential election.
Given the highly excitable character of much of the anti-MAGA, anti-Trump-inclined audience the behavior of the Dems was no doubt a net value.

How many People watched the Hearing live?
Most people got their viewpoint of the Show Trial through the Leftist Media Filter which did not allow the Democrats to look like the fools they were.

After watching most of the dems acting directly hostile to Mr. Barr, I could not believe he took the verbal abuse they threw at him......I would have walked out after the first verbal broadside.............He impressed me.

I listened to almost the entire thing. They never gave him opportunities to answer. Several times he had to use time from the republican side in order to actually get to answer the stupid charges made by the previous democrat.
The Hearing summarized:
Republicans: Criminal conspiracy, Sedition, war on federal government, failure of democrat leadership.
Democrats: Orange man bad.
It was very easy to see who was hostile at that interrogation. All that was missing was a rubber hose for the lunatic Democrats to pass around.
Anyone with an ounce of fairness who watched that circus had to come away thinking that the Dems were beyond being rude, crude and dumb. What a sad day to see public officials operate in such an ignorant and disrespectful manner.
What a load of baloney! The DUMBOcrats wouldn’t let Barr speak, then pulled the disrespectful shenanigan of not giving him a 5 minute break. They are about as classy and deserving of any respect as the garbage you have to scrape off the bottom of the can after it’s been sitting out in summer weather for a week.
