Whenever we post video we try to track down when and where it was shot, but all we know about this one is that 1) he’s not wearing a mask and she’s wearing a coat, so it can’t be too recent, probably February or so, and 2) it’s making the rounds Wednesday.
We don’t often get to see Joe Biden out in the wild — he’s usually in his basement or behind a podium, although we did see him blow off questions from reporters during a visit to his childhood home in Scranton, as he also did a week ago at a campaign stop in Delaware. “I look forward to having your questions at another time but I’m off to another event,” he explained.
From the footage we saw from Scranton, Biden certainly was able to zoom in on a couple of kids in the “crowd” and ask about their ages, but this video has sort of a “Scent of a Woman” vibe, doesn’t it?

When people talk about Biden’s handlers, they literally mean his handlers.

All possible debate locations will cancel rather than Biden having too and they will blame virus.
You are so right. My wonderful mother had vascular dementia. Like you said, once you experience the disease with a family member or close friend, you can spot when someone like Biden is going through it. My mom was very good at covering up her illness for a couple of years. Then she rapidly went downhill. Joe is at least stage 4 or maybe 5, in my non-professional opinion. He is at the point where it can’t be covered up for long. That’s why he blunders so often. His word salad is only going to get worse. Truthfully, this is elder abuse in my book. Shame shame shame on the Democrats.

With the assistance of the news media I believe Joe will avoid any and all debates, especially in person kind. He might do a remote debate from his basement where he can easily have the questions and answers in advance.
I couldn’t really say what level Bidens at but he has all the earmarks I’ve seen in my family member. Though she’s much further advanced now. It’s really quite heartbreaking as she doesn’t know who I am. ...her mind is fading very fast now.
Yes, I agree his family is commiting elder abuse by putting him out there...period.

At one point, my mom couldn’t figure out who I was, either. I was the only one of six kids that she couldn’t sort out. I was devastated when it first happened. She couldn’t figure out how I could be her daughter. So I sent pictures of me as a child and then through adulthood. In some of them I was with her and/or other family members. Some were me with my husband and children. It helped for a very short time, like maybe 2-3 months.
Because I live almost 1000 miles away, I phoned her every night, and we would watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy together while chatting on the phone. For a while, I could talk her through the directions on how to use the tv remote and get it to the right channel. Then it was time for her evening meds and bedtime. I would go stay with her and take care of her for one week a month, to relieve my sister who was still in town, and shouldered most of the responsibility of Mom’s care. It was all I could afford to do.
At any rate, there would be times when my Mom was absolutely stunned that I knew so much about her, her home, and her family. Trying to tell her that she was my Mom and that it was my home and my family too only confused her all the more.
She even remarked to my sister several times while I was there standing next to her, “I wonder why FF isn’t calling today. Wouldn’t it be funny if this FF was the same as the FF that calls me every night to watch TV?” My sister and I laughed with her and agreed that that would be a funny coincidence. On some level she knew I was her daughter, but it just didn’t always click. Yes, it was heartbreaking for quite some time, but she had her moments of clarity. Fortunately, just days before she passed, I was given a beautiful gift of her recognizing me and she called me by name. She said to me, “Mamas love their children, and children love their mamas.” She squeezed my hand tightly, and I reached down and hugged her. Those were some of the last coherent words any of us heard her say.
It will be hard but I’m sure you will treasure the time you spend together.
I simply cannot understand Jill Biden or any of Joe’s family allowing this. It is despicable to me. They should just be spending their time together riding into the sunset of Joe’s years.
I can relate.....see is 6 hours away so it’s difficult to see her. I went out last summer for two weeks and took her to her class reunion. It was a wonderful experience for she’s never mved out of the area and everyone knew her plight and were so gracious. But she would not be able to do this now and I can’t go because of this covid thing. She and her husband are in their mid-70’s , plus I was operated on a few Vonths ago...so I call her frequently. Sometimes it’s ok, but she really desn’t know it’s me. And she’ll forget the call as soon as it’s over as well.
Can you imagine the news storm if this was a video of Trump being led by the arm???
This is a common thing for disabled old people to be led around like this. Even staunch Trump supporters would be panicked if they saw such a thing!
That was very kind of you to take her to her class reunion! I’m sure she enjoyed it, even if she faked remembering who people were. I say faked, because that’s why my mom did. She hid her disabilities very well, just like Joe is doing. Because I had moved away, I didn’t know who all the people were. At one point, she would ask me, and I had no good answers for her. You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.
I wish I could tell you that it will get better, but I know it won’t. Your only relief will be that there will be small snippets of time where she has clarity, and when she does, it will be fleeting. You will cherish those moments though. May God bless both of you!
