Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) said Wednesday he will take an anti-malaria drug that experts have warned doesn’t treat the coronavirus after he tested positive for the virus.
"My doctor and I are all in," Gohmert said about hydroxychloroquine during a Wednesday evening interview with Fox News, according to Newsweek.
"I got a text before I came on from a friend doctor who just found out he had it, and he started the regimen too — zinc and hydroxychloroquine. And that will start in a day or two, so thank you," the congressman added.
Congressional aides confirmed Wednesday that Gohmert, who has largely opted against wearing a mask around the Capitol, tested positive for COVID-19.

He merely tested positive. He is totally asymptomatic. He didn’t even know he had anything till he was about to join President Trump on Air Force 1 on his way to Texas and got tested.
HCQ plus Zinc will deal with it.

I’ll assume Trump’s testing is accurate, so I’ll assume he’s got it.
Found early so no big deal IMO.
But the media has so many (mostly false) memes to push here. Gohmert makes it very difficult for them. I hope they don’t succeed. Gohmert’s story could be very reassuring if presented accurately- but with our media who can expect that.

Tested positive but still asymptomatic, just like the vast majority of those who test positive.
Merely testing positive doesn’t mean much.

The DISEASE COVID-19 is ‘diagnosed’, not ‘tested’.
Most people have the VIRUS but don’t know it. Such people will develop antibodies naturally and never know they are infected. Their immune systems are strong enough to handle the Coronavirus and the virus infection never progresses to a disease state (COVID).
I get your point, but it’s not germane here.
Some testing is for live virus and I assume Trump has that.
May matter in the extreme of course. But if Louis has ‘live’ (Viruses aren’t really ‘alive’- “infectious” is more accurate) virus in him he very likely has the disease.
